Introduction
JetBotLabs ("we", "us", "our") operates the PdfVision Android application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how that information is used, and the choices you have. By using PdfVision you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Firebase Analytics
PdfVision uses Google Firebase Analytics for anonymous, non-personal usage analytics. Collected information may include:
- Device model and OS version
- App usage events (feature usage, opens)
- Performance metrics (non-crash analytics)
1.2 User-selected files & storage access
The App allows users to select PDF files manually, or to grant storage access so the App can scan the device for PDF files. All file access and scanning happens locally on the device.
- Pdf files and file metadata remain on the user's device unless the user explicitly uploads or shares them.
- The App does not upload, copy, or transmit PDFs to JetBotLabs servers.
1.3 AI API keys
PdfVision supports optional AI features via Google Gemini. There are two modes:
- User-provided API key (recommended) — The user can enter their own Gemini API key. This key is stored locally on the device and is not uploaded to JetBotLabs. All AI requests use the user's key and go directly to Google.
- JetBotLabs shared API key (default) — If the user does not provide a key, PdfVision will use a shared Gemini API key owned by JetBotLabs to deliver AI features.
Whether a user-provided or shared key is used, JetBotLabs does not log, monitor, or store prompts, AI responses, or other content from those API requests.
1.4 Network requests
Network access is used only for user-initiated actions such as:
- Viewing a PDF from a direct internet URL
- Sending AI requests to Gemini (using either the user key or shared JetBotLabs key)
- Sending Firebase Analytics events
2. How we use information
We use collected information solely to:
- Understand feature usage and improve the App
- Provide AI features when requested
We do not sell personal data, use data for targeted advertising, or profile users across apps or services.
3. Data storage & security
- PDFs selected or scanned remain on the user's device by default.
- User-provided API keys are stored locally in app storage; the App uses platform storage encryption where available.
- JetBotLabs does not maintain servers that store user documents, prompts, or personal files.
- Firebase Analytics data is stored by Google in accordance with their security practices.
4. Sharing of information
We do not share user files, prompts, or personal information with third parties except:
- Google Firebase — for anonymous analytics.
- Google Gemini — where AI requests are sent (using either the user's key or the shared JetBotLabs key).
We do not sell data to advertisers or other third parties.
5. Your choices & controls
You control how the App behaves on your device:
- Use the App fully offline (do not open network PDFs and do not enable AI).
- Provide your own Gemini API key or leave it blank to use the shared JetBotLabs key.
- Revoke storage access at any time via Android app permissions.
- Clear the App data to remove locally stored API keys and settings.
6. Children’s privacy
PdfVision is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, the Last updated date at the top will change. Continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
